Why become a Thespian?
Thespians is an international honors organization for theatre students.
Students graduate with Thespian Honors recognized by colleges and programs.
Thespians attend the Georgia Thespian Conference, with scholarships from our Boosters.
What it takes
Being a Thespian is earned every year. To be inducted, or to stay active, a student does all five of these.
Be in two productions
Take part in at least two Newnan High School productions during the school year. Any cast or crew position counts once you've earned one point or worked 10 hours.
Help with two fundraisers
Pitch in on at least two department fundraisers each year. It's how we pay for the shows.
Keep a 3.0 GPA
A minimum 3.0 unweighted grade point average. Students first, actors second.
Give five hours of service
At least five hours of community service at a Newnan High School theatre-related event.
Show up for Drama Club
Attend Drama Club meetings, missing no more than two. Arriving late or leaving early three times counts as an unexcused absence.
Exceptions are made for 4th block CEC, Work-Based Learning, and Dual-Enrollment students.
